  • Children who are interested in sports, but not the classroom
  • Children who are good in the classroom but not interested in sports
  • Children who are at-risk, meaning that they may not have the ideal family support and need some extra encouragement & support

Areas of Learning:

  • Basketball > dribbling, shooting, rebounding, passing
  • HIV/AIDS awareness
  • Sports psychology

Literacy Promotion:

KLF also gave a book to each participating child, through a book fair alongside each Camp.

We also left another 500 books for our local partners to distribute throughout the rural areas of Trinidad.

Training of Physical Education Teachers:

KLF hosted two training of trainers (ToT) sessions for basketball coaches and physical education teachers in Trinidad & Tobago. Tom Smith, the former Head Athletic Trainer for the Orlando Magic volunteered his time for this important component.
